Alexandra Palace, commonly known as Ally Pally, is a historic entertainment venue in London. It is situated amidst a beautifully manicured 196 acre park which provides stunning views of the London skyline. For over 140 years, it has been a hub for live music, exhibitions, and public events. The Theatre within the Palace boasts exceptionally unique Victorian design. With an extravagant high ceiling adorned with period specific textures, wooden floors and original red seating, the theatre cultivates a heartening feel of history to its visitors. Its stage has been a platform for numerous celebrity musicians, artists, and other big names in entertainment, thus enriching the Palace's representative cultural significance. What makes the Alexandra Palace theatre different from other venues in London is its perfect balance between retaining its historical essence and adapting to the contemporary necessities of a performance space. The theatre holds a capacity of over 1,300 seats. 

## How to get to the venue 
The Ally Pally theatre can be reached conveniently by public transport services from Central London. The closest underground station is Wood Green (on the Piccadilly line) from where you can either take a W3 bus, which will stop right outside the venue, or a 15-20 minute walk will bring you to the front gate of the Palace. Onsite car parking is also available, but it’s recommended to travel via public transport due to heavy demand.

Alexandra Park opened in 1863. A decade later, Alexandra Palace opened, commonly known as Ally Pally. Alexandra Palace is a historical venue: it's survived two fires, hosted the first ever television broadcast and has seen millions of people experience extraordinary events for over the last 140 years.

When the Alexandra Palace Theatre opened in 1875, crowds of up to 3,000 gathered to see the latest pantomimes, ballets and dramas. But, it was difficult to keep theatregoers visiting north London, instead heading for the bright lights of the West End. The theatre has been used as a cinema, a music hall and even a chapel.
